Chelsea’s manager Maurizio Sarri has now equalled the Premier League record for the longest unbeaten run for a new Premier League manager.
The Stamford Bridge side were 3-1 winners over Crystal Palace on Sunday evening, meaning that the former Napoli boss has not lost in any of his first eleven league matches in charge of the club.
When the game was at 1-1, the Italian manager introduced Eden Hazard who became an instant hit in the match.
Alvaro Morata starred with a brace and Pedro netted the third as Sarri’s side outgunned their opposition.
The result of the game has put him on the same level with former Nottingham Forest boss Frank Clark, who also went eleven unbeaten exactly 24 years ago.
The Stamford bridge based sides were almost defeated when they played host to Manchester United in October; however, a late Ross Barkley equaliser ensured the manager’s streak continued.
After the game, the coach was questioned about the record after the Palace win, Sarri who is also a top contender for the best manager of the month of October declared he was lucky because he had very good players.”
Maurizio Sarri will look forward to breaking the record when Chelsea host Everton at Stamford Bridge next Sunday.
