Revealed! Romelu Lukaku finally disclose why he rejected Chelsea to join Manchester United

Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku has disclosed that the opportunity to work with Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho again was the major reason why he opted to join Manchester United ahead of Premier League Champion Chelsea last summer window.

Mourinho hijack Lukaku

The Belgian international forward signed for United in a huge-money transfer from Everton in the summer as Jose Mourinho moved fast to strengthen his front line ahead of his second campaign in charge at the club.

The switch came as a shock to some football fans because the big striker had been linked heavily with a move back to Chelsea before the summer transfer window last year.

Dream to work under Jose

Now, the forward disclosed to ESPN Brasil that the opportunity to work with the former Chelsea boss once again was the major reason that convinced him a switch to the Old Trafford club was a good idea.

The former Chelsea striker will be hoping to play for the Red Devils when they take on Southampton in their next League match next Sunday.

Decent striker

The forward has netted 12 goals and provided five assists in 25 English Premier League matches for Jose Mourinho’s team so far this term.

Manchester United are currently in second spot in the League log and 13 points adrift league leaders Manchester City.
