Manager of Chile Antonio Pizzi has insisted that there is no way that forward Alexis Sanchez will be allowed to return to Arsenal before the National team’s match against Uruguay.
It was confirmed that Sanchez suffered a low grade muscle tear in his calf while on International duty with Chile and had been ruled out of their world cup qualifier match against Colombia on Thursday.
With speculations that Sanchez could be out for several weeks, reports claim that Arsenal had requested that the Chilean Football Association allow the player come back immediately to London for him to start his rehabilitation.
Pizzi has however stated that Sanchez is making good progress with his injury and has said the forward will not be released to Arsenal.
He said ‘He is recovering and will continue with La Roja. He is very important, but we are working to find ways to replace him. Not having Alexis is a reality to face, but we rely on the entire group.’
Juan Antonio Pizzi earlier confirmed that the injury of Sanchez is a minor one after it was initially feared that the forward could be out for about six weeks and he could be ready to play against Uruguay next week on Tuesday.
Arsenal will now be hoping that their star forward is truly better and will be able to shake off any injury in time to be fit for their next premier league match against Manchester United.
Sanchez has been in terrific form for Arsenal this season and has scored 13 goals so far in all competitions.
