After Chelsea’s closest rivals Tottenham Hotspur lost their last game to West Ham on Friday, Chelsea now have the chance to increase their lead at the top of the premier league table…. And they are set to take on Middlesbrough on Monday night.
Even though it is obvious that Boro would fight furiously to get all full point at Stamford Bridge (because they are threatened with relegation as this season approaches it end), the fact remains that Antonio Conte has a better squad, and is favorite to win the game.
The Stamford Bridge club won their last game in the premier league against Everton away from home at Goodison Park, but Boro could only earned a point against the Sky Blues last weekend.
It was reported that Samba star David Luiz is the only player with an injury issue in Conte’s team at the moment, but the former PSG star is however expected to be fit on Monday.
Even though the Chelsea boss need not make any change in his starting XI that played the Toffees last weekend, it can be expected that Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas should make a return to the lineup.
Cesc, in his last 85 minutes for Chelsea, has provided two assists, and he his not expected to sit on the bench.
This is Chelsea’s probable 3-4-3 starting XI versus Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge.
