According to reports, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has wrapped up the move of Inter Milan forward and speculated Chelsea transfer target Mauro Icardi.
The Argentina international striker has recently been claimed by the Sun as being at the middle of a £100million transfer tussle between Real Madrid and Chelsea.
Mauro Icardi has been in brilliant form this campaign and it is a little shock to see links with top European sides emerging after his good record of 16 goals in 16 Italian Serie A matches.
As per Don Balon, Real Madrid now seems to have won the battle for his signature with club supremo Perez seeming to seal the move during the side’s participation in the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup.
Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid defeated Al Jazira 2-1 in yesterday’s semi-final match and will now be huge favourites to go and win the trophy.
Still, it has been an underwhelming first stanza of the campaign for Real Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane’s men already looking out of the La Liga title running.
The addition of the Argentine could help things in the second stanza of the season, with Icardi, 24, a likely upgrade on Karim Benzema.
