French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) will reignite their interest in Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante according to various reports in the French media.
PSG are long-term admirers of the Chelsea player who recently signed a new contract towards the end of last year.
2018 World Cup winner Kante is the highest paid earner at Chelsea with a reported £300,000 on a weekly basis as a result of the new deal that he signed in November.
French news outlet Le 10 Sport confirmed the news that PSG will reignite their interest in N’Golo Kante.
PSG have struggled for midfield options this season and senior club officials are keen to rectify that problem in the summer with Kante said to be one of their targets.
The French Ligue 1 leaders suffered their first league defeat of the season following the 2-1 away loss at the hands of fellow Champions League campaigners Lyon.
The hosts came from a goal down to secure victory as PSG fielded defenders like Marquinhos and Daniel Alves in midfield due to a shortage of options.
Argentine international player Leandro Paredes joined PSG before the end of the winter transfer window but he’s still being integrated into the squad by manager Thomas Tuchel.
Paredes, 24, came on as a second-half substitute in the game against Lyon.
