Barcelona vs Liverpool

English Premier League outfit Liverpool and Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona are no doubt one of the most successful clubs in Europe as far as the Champions League is concerned. They will both be ready for a showdown on Wednesday when the Reds team visit Camp Nou for the first leg of the semi-finals.

This clash remains a major test for the Reds team as they are keen on winning their first title in a long while manager Jurgen Klopp is hoping to win his first with the club since he began work.

An opportunity for the Reds team to win it last year was stopped by a Spanish side Real Madrid and now they are being faced with a La Liga team as the barrier to reach the finals of the competition for the second consecutive time.

More to the contest is the fact that they have both won the Champions League five times in their history. A winner this time will be the first to win it six times.

However, Barcelona have got Lionel Messi as a major threat alongside Philippe Coutinho who is a former Liverpool player to boast of.

For Liverpool, the praise of Virgil Van Dijk has been sung a number of times and he will be up to prove that again against fast Lionel Messi while the Reds team have got Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane as an extra weapon to be unleashed against the La Liga outfit.

A scoreline of 2-1 is, therefore, being predicted knowing that Barcelona turn out to be a bigger team with Lionel Messi.

Barcelona possible starting lineup:
Ter Stegen; Roberto, Pique, Lenglet, Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Arthur; Messi, Suarez, Dembele.

Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane
