English Premier League outfit Man United are keen to secure a sporting director ahead of the coming season and there have been a number of names popping up for the role.

The position became necessary in the new structure of the team especially as there is a need to find someone who can work with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on recruitment of new players, knowing that the club will be working the coming summer transfer window for me additions in the team.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s former teammate Rio Ferdinand has been linked with the job of a sporting director at the Old Trafford but he seems not to be comfortable with that as he has his wish and his pick for the job.

It is reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will refer to have Mike Phelan who is more experienced for the position as he plans to storm the summer transfer window.

Mike Phelan has got a vast knowledge of the demands at the Old Trafford as he has worked with legendary manager Alex Ferguson which makes him understand the demand at the club.

Howbeit, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly gearing up for the summer window and he will have the sum of £200 million to spend for new players.
