Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger is no longer in charge at the Emirates Stadium but reports of him keep pulping out.
Wenger had a 22-year reign as Arsenal boss before picking everyone by surprise with the announcement of his leaving the club after seasons of “Wenger Out” protest at the Emirates Stadium.
Undoubtedly, he is the most successful manager the club has ever had, winning the English Premier League title and the FA Cup before leaving.
Reports say the board eventually got tired of him and behind closed doors, gave him the opportunity to resign honourably or be sacked.
He was then replaced by former PSG manager Unai Emery at the summer.
Arsenal academy chief coach, Per Mertesacker has revealed that the sack of the French manager was the making of the players.
Admitting that he also bears the quilt, the German international stated that the fact that the players failed to deliver results despite the backing of the manager made it difficult for the club to keep him.
He stated that Wenger’s announcement had met the team by surprise which was a regret to all players.
The former Arsenal captain disclosed that all players were sad at the development because they all failed the manager.
Pundit – I will suggest this 68-year-old coach to replace Mourinho, Arsenal fans on alert
