Pedro believes that Chelsea not having any European commitment this season can provide them a major advantage over their premiership rivals as the blues seek to win another premiership title. Pedro had a slow start to the season but in recent weeks has been a major part of Chelsea’s excellent run in the premier league and has adapted well to manager Conte’s style.
Last season Leicester City surprised a lot of people by winning the Premier league and many attributed their success to not having to worry about playing in Europe.
According to the Daily Star the 29 year old winger in an interview with Spanish radio station Onda Cero revealed that spending more time in training with manager Antonio Conte is really helping the team.
Pedro said “Without playing midweek we’ve concentrated more on the league, which is the competition we want to focus on the most. Not playing allows us to prepare for each match well and work on our shape and you can tell that it’s working well for us.
The Spaniard though went on to reveal that it has been strange watching other teams play in the Champions league after having played in the competition throughout his career.
He said “After playing in it [the Champions League] for so many years, the truth is not being in this competition is strange and difficult for me.But this season can still be a good year for us. At the moment we’re going well and we’re on track to be back there next year.”
