According to reports, former Manchester United defender Jonny Evans is ready to dump West Brom at the end of this term.

Evans, who has been linked with the duo of Arsenal and Manchester City, is reportedly set to snub the North London club in favour of a move to Etihad.

His current side are close to being relegated from the Premier League due to their unimpressive form this term.

With just five top-flight games remaining, West Brom must do all it takes to win all five, hence, if relegated, will lose Jonny for just £3M as a result of a relegation release clause in his deal.

Arsene Wenger is also interested in bringing the 30-year-old down to the Emirates Stadium, but it was reported Evans is not interested in joining Arsenal.

According to the Daily Mirror, the player is keen on joining Manchester City and will snub Wenger’s side even if they tried to trigger his release clause.

Arsenal’s Per Mertesacker is hanging his boots at the end of this season, and the club is seeking to sign a new defender this summer.
