According to new reports by the Express, EPL side West Bromwich Albion have made yet another bid of around £24 million for Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin. This new bid made it the fourth one as it is alleged that they have already made three previous bids – all three were rejected by United manager Jose Mourinho.
Last December, it was occasionally speculated that the Frenchman is also wanted by Everton and he could be possibly included in a deal which would also see out-of-favour Memphis Depay leave Old Trafford.
Lots of surprises are going on here. Firstly, the highest amount West Brom have paid to sign a player is the £13 Million spent to bring Nacer Chadli from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer. Right now, despite being not relevant at Old Trafford, Tony Pulis is ready to spend a new record of £24M to bring Schneiderlin in. The West Brom boss has made the Frenchman his number one target for the transfer window. That is so surprising.
Even though some believed that United boss Jose Mourinho is interested in removing the likes of Schneiderlin out of his squad before the transfer window closes, it is obvious that the Portuguese won’t settle for a price that won’t make him happy.
Manchester United paid £25 million for Schneiderlin just 18 months ago to Southampton. So, if both clubs decide to go into a bidding war, Jose could be in for some profit.
