Napoli have emerged as favourites in the chase for highly rated Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
The status of Italian Serie A giants as frontrunners for the young Frenchman was revealed by his agent Duro Ivanisevic during an interview with Calcio Napoli 24.
Ivanisevic stated that his client is likely to move to Napoli as he can improve under manager Carlo Ancelotti before adding that French Ligue 1 giants Lyon have already slapped a €80m (£75m) price tag on him.
The latest development on the pursuit of Tanguy Ndombele is a big blow for Premier League leaders Liverpool who are one of the clubs said to be in the running for the 21-year-old.
The Reds have been previously linked with the French international midfielder alongside other European heavyweights such as Manchester United, Barcelona, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.
Tanguy Ndombele has been in very good form for Lyon for the better part of the last two years.
He earned rave reviews for his performances against Premier League champions Manchester City in the Champions League.
Ndombele and Lyon teammate Houssem Aouar were singled out for praise after the games against the Citizens.
He became a French international in October after making his debut in a friendly against Iceland.
