Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has defended star player David De Gea as he noted that he is not ready for a move away from the club at the moment but only forced by circumstances.

The Spanish stopper has insisted on leaving the Red Devils having refused pleads by the club and the manager.

His stand on leaving the club had forced the management to activate the clause in his contract that will have him remain for another 12 months with the hope that he could have a change of mind before it ends.

While it is speculated that the former Atletico Madrid player is unhappy with the Portuguese boss, Mourinho has always come in defence of De Gea stating that he is the best keeper in the world as well as urging the club to do all it takes to have him remain at the club.

Mourinho in a recent interview claims that there could be other reasons why the player might be acting the way he does, affirming his confidence that De Gea only fancies a stay at the club.

Mourinho stated that should all things go the way the club wants it, De Gea will remain at the Old Trafford to help change the fortune of the club.
