According to reports, Everton have begun talks with Premier League champions Chelsea over the possible sale of Romelu Lukaku.
The player has long been linked with a move away from Goodison Park after he refused to sign a contract extension earlier in the just concluded campaign.
The Belgian’s future has been open to much debate in recent times with the Toffees even putting a £100m price tag on the player’s head.
And the Times are now saying Chelsea have opened negotiations with Lukaku’s club to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.
It was added that Ronald Koeman needs a superb replacement for Lukaku, and he wants Chelsea to give him Michy Batshuayi. However, the report claims the transfer is being delayed because Michy is reluctant in moving to Everton as part of the deal.
It is understood that various packages have been discussed by both premier league clubs but Chelsea are yet to meet Everton’s valuation and Batshuayi, even though has accepted he no longer has a future at Chelsea, want to move to Monaco instead of remaining in England.
Also, Chelsea are said to be reluctant to pay more than £70 Million for Lukaku but are prepared to put him at the top of their pay scale on £200,000 each week.
