Man United boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Sergio Romero will start in goal for his side when they meet Hull City on Thursday.
In the absence of injuries, the 29-year-old will step in for David de Gea and Jose Mourinho is happy for De Gea to take a small break and return to Spain to see his family if he wishes.
Anthony Martial enjoyed a weekend back in Paris which prompted questions from some critics. However the Portuguese boss explained why he was happy for his players to have small breaks, stating bluntly “We don’t have many days off”.
This season so far Romero has been very steady as a backup goalkeeper. Even though there is still this unnerving fear he could be on the verge of making a huge mistake, but he has been solid, and he is expected to continue like that against Hull.
De Gea on his part gets a bit of time to re-energize. Of course, not all managers are like Jose Mourinho who knows the positive impact of little breaks like this.
The Portuguese tactician managed Mkhitaryan magnificently through a tough period to help him adapt to life in the English Premier League- and the Old Trafford club are already reaping the rewards of that. We can say Mourinho is a guru who should be trusted with lots of his activities.
