23-year-old puts Chelsea and Man United to task

Former Champions League winners Chelsea have joined Premier League rivals Manchester United in the race to sign highly-rated Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to start as from the 1st of January.

Manchester United are long-term admirers of the Slovakian international centre back but the Red Devils will have to contend with the Blues for his signature as reported by popular English news portal The Sun.

Milan Skriniar has been in impressive form for his Italian Serie A side since he joined the Nerazzurri in a €20m deal from fellow Italian top-flight side Sampdoria during last summer’s transfer window.

He featured in all the 38 league games last season as he helped Inter Milan secure a return to the Champions League via a fourth-place finish at the end of the 2017/18 Italian Serie A season.

The Slovak defender is said to be rated at around £70m.

Chelsea and new manager Maurizio Sarri is keen on defensive reinforcements for his team and he has identified him as a potential transfer addition.

The five-time Premier League champions have doubts over the future of three centre-backs namely David Luiz, Gary Cahill and Andreas Christensen hence their is need for centre back reinforcements .
