World Cup-winning French midfielder N’Golo Kante has ended rumours about his future after he signed a new contract at the club.
The player has signed a new five-year contract until the end of the 2022/23 season thus committing his long-term future to Chelsea.
Kante had been a subject of transfer reports involving clubs like Manchester United and French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) for a few months now, however, the new contract has brought to an end to all the rumours and speculations.
The midfielder has been a key player for the Blues since he joined the club from fellow Premier League side Leicester City in the summer of 2016.
The player who was part of the Leicester team that won the English premier league in 2015/2016 signed for Chelsea shortly after playing a major role in the Foxes’ unlikely Premier League title triumph.
The French international midfielder won the Premier League title in his first season at Chelsea under the guidance of then manager Antonio Conte.
Kante was rewarded for his Chelsea performances in that season with the PFA Player of the Year award.
He also played a big role in last season’s FA Cup title triumph made possible courtesy the 1-0 win over rivals Manchester United.
N’Golo Kante has seen his role change under new manager Maurizio Sarri with the arrival of summer signing Jorginho but he still remains a key player for Chelsea.
