The Gemany international midfielder’s knee injury will make him miss Wednesday’s Carabao Cup clash with Doncaster Rovers with an inflamed knee problem.

Mesut Ozil remains sidelined with the knee injury which meant the former Real Madrid star missed the away clash at Stamfoed bridge against Chelsea.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said: “Mesut (Ozil) is training again, but for Wednesday clash, no he will not play a part. He (Ozil) has a little problem on his knee.”

The French tactician, however, confirmed that defender Calum Chambers will be included in the Matchday squad for the Doncaster clash.

“It (the Lineup) will be a similar team (squad) to the one that played against (Bundesliga side) Cologne,” Arsene Wenger added.

Second choice goalkeeper Goalkeeper David Ospina, captain Per Mertesacker, Egyptian Mohamed Elneny, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, England star Theo Walcott, Chilean Alexis Sanchez and Frenchman Olivier Giroud all started the UEFA Champions League match against FC Cologne before being left out of the starting line-up for the London derby at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Frenchman’s priority against Doncaster Rovers will be to build on the morale-boosting away point and impressive display against Chelsea at the Bridge, where the Gunners had lost on five previous fixtures, and carry the momentum into the West Bromwich Albion contest.
