Chelsea Target Left Out Of Lazio Defeat

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi was a conspicuous absentee as his team lost to Lazio in their Italian Serie A clash on Sunday night.

Without Argentine international Icardi, the Nerazzurri were beaten 1- 0 by their visitors in the race for Champions League football next season.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was the matchwinner for Lazio who boosted their Champions League quest with the superb win.

Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti and his players lacked the cutting edge that Icardi normally gives them in their league meeting with Lazio at the San Siro.

Spalletti had earlier revealed that he won’t include the aforementioned Icardi in his team because of his recent feud with the club.

The Argentine international has not played for Inter Milan since he was stripped off captaincy duties at the club six weeks ago.

He returned to training at the start of last week and several fans and pundits were expecting him to feature for Inter Milan at the weekend but his manager had other ideas.

Icardi has been linked with several European clubs as his feud with Inter Milan shows no signs of ending.

Chelsea are one of the clubs keen to sign him while the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United are ready to splash big money on him.
