Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has expressed doubts over the Premier League title credentials of Liverpool after the Reds failed to beat the Gunners when they met on Saturday evening at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners legend spoke about the league clash between the two English giants while he was on BT Sport.
According to him, Liverpool should have matched their title rivals Manchester City by winning against Arsenal.
The defending Premier League champion had beaten the Gunners 2-0 away from home on the opening day of the season and the footballer turned pundit had expected the same outcome of an away win for the Reds.
His colleague Rio Ferdinand, however, argued against his statements as he said that the Gunners are a much different team from the one Manchester City faced in the opening weekend of the new Premier League season.
Liverpool have seen their league title chances diminish as a result of the outcome according to statistics website FiveThirtyEight.
The Reds previously had a 29% chance of winning the Premier League at the expense of champions Manchester City but that has reduced to 22% due to their inability to beat the Gunners having started as firm favourites against the North Londoners.
Arsenal deservedly battled for a 1-1 draw against the Reds.
