Manchester United right-back Ashley Young is all but set to leave Old Trafford this month as he is close to being a free agent and Solskjaer is planning to cash-in on his signature.

England’s 33-year-old player is in the final year of his contract with the Old Trafford outfits and reports via the Mirror claimed that Serie A clubs are queueing for his signature.

According to the Mirror, Roma and Inter Milan are on the lookout for the player’s services as the Red Devils have failed to convince him to sign a new contract with the club.

The British publication reveals that United are willing to offer him a new contract extension but are reluctant to increase his current £120,000 salary.

Inter Milan are in search of a proven left-back who can freely join their attacking frontline and they are convinced the England international possess every quality they wanted.

Having joined United from Aston Villa for £20million in 2011, Young has played 165 matches, scoring 14 goals in the process.

Despite José Mourinho’s dismissal, the player still remains a key member of the team under Solskjaer as he has featured in all of the three matches managed by the Norwegian.

He would be hoping to retain his starting position later tonight when the Red Devils tackle Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle at the St James’ Park.

The away side are on a three-match winning streak and they will hope to make it four against a struggling Newcastle team who are in the 15th position with 18 points from 20 games.
