Manchester United star player Phil Jones has been very much impressive at Old Trafford recently and has been able to force his way into Jose Mourinho’s starting XI.
And according to reports, the club are set to reward him for his form by handing him a new deal that will see him earn a whopping £150,000 each week.
Jones had struggled to find his form and fitness prior to the arrival of his new manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, but the Englishman has now formed a strong partnership with Eric Bailly at the heart of his side’s defence.
The England international has just 20 months left on his current contract with the red devils, and it is understood that Mourinho values the 25-year-old highly and is keen on keeping hold of him and that negotiations have begun over a new deal.
The Mirror made it known that the player will be earning as much as Chelsea’s David Luiz and Manchester City talented player Vincent Kompany and that the deal is likely to be completed before the January transfer window.
Jones has also been able to force his way into the England national side and is ready to represent his country in the World Cup next year at Russia. And United will do well to complete the deal before the player join the Gareth Southgate’s train for the competition.
