Speaking after the 1-0 win over Benfica in the UEFA Champions League, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho expressed his worry about the fitness of Marcus Rashford.
Manchester United forced their way to a 1-0 win over Benfica at the Estádio da Luz on Wednesday night, with star striker Marcus Rashford scoring the only goal of the match and the victory means that United are now on the verge of qualifying for the knockout rounds of the Cup competition.
While the full-time result would surely have been very good for the United manager, he has been left worried regarding the fitness of Marcus Rashford after the match.
The England international forward had to be substituted in the 75th minute of the encounter and he went straight down the tunnel with team doctors after coming off of the field.
After the match, Jose Mourinho spoke about the injury sustained by the youngster by stating that the Englishman has sustained a knee injury and that the Red Devils are currently facing an anxious wait to know the full extent of the problem.
The United boss told BT Sport, “It is something in his knee. I [Jose Mourinho] thought it was a cramp or a bit of fatigue but he said it is something he [Marcos Rashford] felt in his knee. I [Jose Mourinho] hope it is nothing important.”
