Manchester United’s hopes of signing Nemanja Matic from Chelsea has been taunted by their shock move for Romelu Lukaku.
According to reports in the Guardian claim that United have been hit with a transfer blow in their pursuit of Matic after agreeing on a move for Lukaku at the expense of Chelsea.
The Belgian star was a subject transfer interest from the Premier League duo of Manchester United and Chelsea, with reports that the latter had an upper hand in a potential deal.
But the world footballing were treated with a major shock with the news that Everton agreed on a deal to sell Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United for £75 million.
Prior to that Manchester United were said to be keen on considering an approach for Chelsea midfielder, Nemanja Matic who is also keen on leaving the Stamford Bridge following reports that the Blues were closing in on the transfer of AS Monaco midfielder, Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Blues boss Antonio Conte is understood to be keen on adding new faces to his current squad despite their impressive displays that saw them win the Premier League. There are reports that the League champions have turned attention to other targets with the likes of Alvaro Morata, Andrea Belotti, Fernando Llorente and Christian Benteke all tipped to move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
