Tottenham star player Toby Alderweireld has been heavily linked with a move away from the club in recent times after emerging as a target for a handful of top European clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona.
The talented defender joined Mauricio Pochettino’s side in 2015 from Atletico Madrid, and he has gone ahead to become an important member at the club after evolving into one of the best defenders playing in England.
He is however ready to dump Spurs this summer and has ignored a new contract meant to extend his stay at the club. It was even claimed that the London club are ready to sign Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax to replace him.
Of course, Mauricio Pochettino’s side made different attempts to persuade him to change his heart – they even reportedly went as ‘far’ as offering him a £120,000-a-week deal – but his mind is already made up.
Although various top clubs are interested in signing him, the Evening Standard made it known that Jose Mourinho’s side are the ones likely to get his signature.
Manchester United are reportedly set to offer him a mouthwatering contract that will keep him at the Theater of Dreams for a long period of time.
