Porto starlet Afonso Sousa has been heavily linked with a move away from the club in recent times after emerging as a target for premier league heavyweights Manchester United.
According to new reports circulating in the media, the Old Trafford club have made contact with an associate of the 18-year-old in an attempt to bring him down to the Theater of Dreams this summer transfer window.
The talented teenager has been impressive at Porto’s B side in recent times and has caught the attention of various top European clubs with his superb displays.
Afonso has been tipped to progress into Porto’s first-team as a result of his talents, but he has just a year remaining on his current deal at the club and has been heavily linked with a move away the Portuguese giants ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
Popular news outlet O Jogo indicates that Manchester United have approached the youngster’s former agent Carlos Goncalves about a possible move to the Theater of Dreams.
It was also added that La Liga champions Barcelona are also interested in him and have also made proposals to secure his services.
Manchester United successfully completed a deal with Porto for Diogo Dalot some days back, and they should have no difficulties with sealing Sousa’s deal.
