Manchester United have from all indications left the door open for Arsenal to have defender Eric Bailly after they are reported to have told the player that he is free to leave at the end of his contract.

Daily Telegraph reports that he has been told he is free to leave as early as in the January transfer window because he is no longer needed at the club.

The Ivory Coast international was manager Jose Mourinho’s first signing from Villarreal when he became United’s coach but he last performed in his first season at the club and has since become very quiet in his game.

Although the 24-year-old picked up an injury last season and that has been the end of good reports from him which makes him unwanted by the team.

Eric Bailly has made just five starts this season which has been signalled to Arsenal with the hope that they can give the former Villarreal player a new start at the Emirate Stadium.

The North London side are weak in the defence compared to their sharp attack which might have been identified by manager Unai Emery who is now interested in solving that issue with the Ivory Coast international in the January Transfer window.
