Liverpool are willing to splash cash on Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade Chamberlain next summer, according to reports.

The 23-year-old who joined the Gunners in 2011 from Southampton has not been able to stamp his feet at the Emirates due to inconsistent displays and injuries, with suggestions he might fancy a move away from Arsenal, sparking speculations that a number of clubs in England wants to sign him during the next summer transfer window.

Reports in the Daily Telegraph have it that the Reds are confident that they can land the Englishman next summer and Jurgen Klopp ready to splash up to £35million to lure him to Anfield.

It is understood that Liverpool will hope to convince Oxlade Chamberlain to join them for better first team opportunities and prospects of playing under Klopp who has revamped the Reds squad.

However, Arsene Wenger has remained adamant on not selling any of his players to league rivals, and might hold on to the 23-year-old as he enters the final year of his contract at the Emirates.

The Frenchman recently said: ‘I personally think it is vital that Chamberlain stays at Arsenal. It would be a big damage for us to lose this kind of player.’

Liverpool will hope to capitalise on the uncertainty of Arsene Wenger’s future at Arsenal and ramp up negotiations to lure Oxlade Chamberlain to Anfield next summer.
