Weston McKennie plays his club football for German Bundesliga side Schalke 04 at the moment.
The Sun claim that the Reds are keeping tabs on the player with a view to potentially make a move for him.
The 20-year-old has been in superb form for Schalke 04 since he broke into the first team at the start of the season.
The American midfielder has impressed for Schalke 04 in both the German Bundesliga and the Champions League thereby leading to interest from other European clubs including Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Weston McKennie would definitely be a signing for the future if the Reds splash the cash on him.
He will find it hard to break into current Liverpool midfield with players like Dutch international star Giorginio Wijnaldum, Brazilian international player Fabinho, James Milner, Guinean midfielder Naby Keita and club captain Jordan Henderson.
The aforementioned midfielders have been able to fire the team to the top of the table in the Premier League.
Liverpool are four points ahead of defending champions Manchester City ahead of the weekend’s set of games.
