The Liverpool midfield has been in the spotlight in the new season despite the Reds’ fantastic start to the new campaign.
The England duo of Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana have been severely criticised by Red fans for their performances in eve colours of Liverpool this season.
Henderson is the Liverpool skipper and he has played regularly when he’s fit, while Lallana has mostly spent the new season on the bench.
Several Liverpool fans have called for quality replacements for the two players and they could get their wish in the next transfer window in January following reports that the club could make a move for Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.
According to a report from RMC Sport, Liverpool are strongly interested in making a move for the highly-rated French midfielder.
Doucoure has been a key performer for his London club since his move to Vicarage Road in 2016.
He has scored seven goals in 73 appearances for the Hornets and his performances this season played a big role in the club’s run to the seventh position on the Premier League table.
The Reds could spend up to £35m to get their man but they will have to fend off interests from other clubs like Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
