Three clubs got involved, Liverpool keen to complete 6f tall player deal this month.

Mamadou Sakho

Mamadou Sakho has not played a minute of football since Liverpool’s pre-season tour in the United States and is expected to leave the English club this month.

Having angered Jurgen Klopp during the pre-season with an attitude deemed unprofessional,  the France international has been frozen out of the team and has not been involved in any of the Red’s fixtures since then.

Since being back on the market,  the former PSG captain had drawn interest from several top teams across Europe with Galatasaray, Southampton and Swansea among the teams seeking to add the French international to their ranks.

Galatasaray has officials flying to England to discuss a possible transfer with Liverpool in bid to sign Sakho before the end of the transfer window, as reported by Güneş Gazetesi but it seems the player who was a key part of the Liverpool squad last season will remain in England as Southampton and Swansea look to be ahead in the race for the player’s signature.

According to BBC,  Liverpool has an asking price of £20m and won’t settle for less for a player whose ability has never been in doubt but his popularity has dropped as he hasn’t played in the past six months of the current campaign.

Moreover interested clubs are aware that Liverpool is keen to get rid of the player as well as the player’s need for a fresh start after been banned for doping towards the end of the previous English Premier League season.
