Liverpool are trying to utilise wisely the money they earned from the recent sale of Phillipe Coutinho to Barcelona.
The Anfield club have solved part of their defensive problems by signing Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton, and they are expected to sign a world class goalkeeper too (as the duo of Karius and Mignolet haven’t been impressive in recent times).
Atletico Madrid shot-stopper Jan Oblak has been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital in recent times after emerging as a target for a handful of top clubs across Europe including Liverpool.
Last week, there were speculations Liverpool have identified him as the goalie they will like seeing at Anfield.
The likes of Paris Saint Germain are also interested in Jan, and there are some suggestions from the Spanish media that the 25-year-old won’t head to Liverpool.
Jan is one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He has been impressive at Benfica before moving to the Spanish capital in 2014. This season so far in 18 La Liga games for Atletico Madrid, he has kept 11 clean sheets and has only conceded eight goals.
Jan has a contract at Atletico Madrid meant to expire in 2021 with a huge release clause of £89million.
Should Jurgen Klopp splash £89million on Oblak?
