The 2018 FIFA award was up last night as many players went home with 1 or 2 awards.
Real Madrid midfielder and Croatia international, Luca Modric won the award for the best player of the year as he put an end to the 10 years reign of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Also, FIFA gave out a controversial award – The Puskas Award given to Liverpool star and Egypt player, Mo Salah.
However, the world best XI was also named last night and Chelsea 27-year-old midfielder and world cup winner, N’golo Kante made the list.
Kante took to his social media handle to react excitedly about the nomination.
He described it as an honour and went on to appreciate fans for their support.
The diminutive midfielder was also joined by his Chelsea teammate and Belgium international, Eden Hazard.
Also from France national squad, N’golo Kante was joined by Kylian Mbappe and Raphael Varane.
Kante deserves the nomination as he helped his home country, France to win their second world cup.
And he has been spectacular at Chelsea especially under new coach Sarri Maurizio.
Hopefully, we will be seeing more of the Frenchman when Chelsea face Liverpool in the Carabao League on Wednesday night.
