Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that Eric Bailly can be replaced by Matteo Darmian, Michael Carrick and Axel Tuanzebe during their next Europa League clash on Thursday.
The Ivorian defender limped out of United’s game against Swansea City last Sunday to add to their increasing injury list and there have been concerns about replacing for their clash against Celta Vigo after the likes of Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are all ruled out of the clash due to injuries.
Mourinho has now claimed that he has players he will trust to replace Bailly at the centre- back position, he said: “I don’t think they [Phil Jones and Chris Smalling] will be fit,
“That’s my personal opinion, I don’t think they will but I know the players I choose they give everything.
“It doesn’t matter if I go with Darmian as a central defender, if I go with Carrick or Axel. I trust the boys.
“The spirit is amazing, the group is phenomenal.”
Jose Mourinho can only hope his boys continue with their good form in the Europa League and win the trophy in order to get into the Champions League next season as Europa League champions.
