Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is determined to sign Everton forward Romelu Lukaku this summer ahead of their league rivals, according to reports.
It is believed that the United boss has made Lukaku a priority signings this summer as he looks to add quality to his current squad.
The Belgian star has been tipped to the Tofees at the end of the season after failing to renew his contract, drawing speculations that he could return to his former club, Chelsea who are also said to be leading the race to sign the striker.
Reports in Guardia claim that the Portuguese boss has told Manchester United to make Lukaku a priority transfer this summer, with the hopes of convincing him with Champions League next season following reports that the 23-year-old wants to play in the Champions League next season.
Mourinho was at the helms of affairs at Chelsea when Lukaku was sold to Everton after falling to impress the Portuguese but the forward has turned out become one of the most-talked about strikers in the Premier League.
It is understood that Manchester United are keen on landing a major target to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has been ruled out on a long-term injury and strongly believes Lukaku could be a viable option.
