According to new reports coming from England, premier league giants Chelsea are planning a summer raid for Southampton FC star defender Ryan Bertrand.
The Evening Standard revealed that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte desire to have more competition at the left side of the defence and he admires Southampton’s left-back Ryan Bertrand a lot. It was also stated that the Saints value the 27-year-old Englishman an excess of 25 million pounds, even though they signed him from Chelsea for only £10 million back in 2015.
He joined the west London side from Gillingham in 2005 but was not successful at Stamford Bridge, and was occasionally sent out on loan.
However, he made history by becoming the first player to make his European debut in a UEFA Champions League final as he started in the blues win over Bayern Munich back then in 2012.
And since moving over to Southampton when he was sold out by current Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, he has been impressive for the Saints, and now, current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte reportedly wants him back at Stamford Bridge.
When Mourinho first came to Chelsea, he used Bertrand just three times before the England international moved to Aston Villa on loan. Even though he briefly returned for pre-season training under Jose, he moved to Southampton in 2015 first on loan before before his transfer became permanent six months later.
