Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has revealed that he was on the verge of a switch to other Premier League sides before a deal with the West London side fell through.

According to him, Manchester United and Liverpool came knocking for his signature in the last summer transfer window from Italian outfit Napoli but an agreement was not reached.

The 26-year-old had an impressive spell with the Italian side which made a number of clubs from the English League call for his signature.

Jorginho’s Chelsea move is believed to be influenced by his desire to continue his career under manager Maurizio Sarri.

It is no longer news that manager Maurizio Sarri joined the West London side from Napoli in the last summer.

Both the manager and player have enjoyed working with each other and they are now happy to have it continue having had a good understanding of the demands from Sarri.

However, the Italian boss has been able to create space Jorginho on his team by pushing former Leicester City star N’Golo Kante to a more advanced role.

Kante was known to play a deep role in the middle and was seen as the best before the coming of the Italian boss.
