Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that long-term injury absentee Joe Gomez will return to the Reds squad for their Champions League quarterfinal second leg clash with FC Porto on Wednesday night.

Klopp revealed that Joe Gomez is ready for the Liverpool squad during his pre-match thoughts ahead of the game against Portuguese champions FC Porto.

Joe Gomez could play a part in the game though he’s not expected to be named in the starting XI for the FC Porto game.

Liverpool are in a good position to secure a last four place in the Champions League having established a 2-0 lead from the first leg at Anfield last week.

The Reds have already beaten FC Porto in front of their fans after they thrashed the Portuguese outfit 5-0 at the Estadio Dragao enroute to the Champions League final last season.

Liverpool secured a 5-0 aggregate victory over FC Porto in their last 16 tie last season.

The Reds were Champions League finalists last season before they were beaten 3-1 by Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid in their final clash last summer.

Joe Gomez sustained a leg fracture in December during the Premier League clash with Burnley and he’s just working his way back to fitness after suffering a setback weeks ago.
