Genoa youngster Pietro Pellegri has emerged as a target for a handful of top clubs across Europe despite his tender age, and his agent has recently called him a ‘young Zlatan Ibrahimovic’.
The 16-year-old is rated as one of the most promising talents in Italy and has already scored three times in seven Serie A matches.
Top clubs including Manchester United, AC Milan, Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain are all understood to be interested in the player following his impressive performances last season at his Serie A club.
There were also rumours last months that his most likely destination would be England due to the presence of his agent Giueseppe Riso in the country.
And Riso, speaking recently about the teenager, said he has a bright future ahead of him and also compared the youngster to Swede legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Speaking to French news outlet FootMercato (via Express), Giueseppe hailed Pietro as a ‘very powerful striker’ who has been very superb in Italy and ‘one of the best young European players’.
The young Italian is currently the youngest player to ever play in the Italian top flight and the Serie A youngest goalscorer.
He is a regular for the Italian U-17 side, and he made it known last month that Manchester United superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic is his football idol.
According to Pietro, Zlatan is ‘the best striker in the world.’
