According to reports currently circulating in Italy, Man United boss Jose Mourinho is ready to bring Joao Mario into Old Trafford to replace Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The former Dortmund playmaker has barely featured in Man United’s recent games, and it appears Jose Mourinho has made up his mind about the Armenia star.
There were speculations Mkhitaryan wasn’t pleased that he was not given a chance in the Manchester Derby against City on Sunday, and he has demanded to hold talks with Jose.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Portuguese manager is keen on adding more quality to his midfield department, and he will try taking advantage of the upcoming January transfer window.
The former Chelsea boss is said to have identified Joao Mario as a player who could add more value to his team at Old Trafford, following the 24-year-old’s impressive performances at San Siro.
It was suggested that Henrikh could move to the Italian capital on loan until the end of this season, and that the Serie A heavyweights would also consider selling Mario for €45 million.
Inter Milan bought the 24-year-old from Sporting last year, but he has struggled for playing time at the Italian club this term.
Last week, there were other speculations that the Portuguese star is looking to leave the club and has caught the attention of French giants Paris Saint Germain.
