Big blow to United as Matthijs de Ligt declares love for Barcelona
English Premier League giants Manchester United have suffered a big blow in the pursuit of their big target and Ajax sensate-on Matthijs de Ligt after he openly declared love for Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona.
The Red Devils have long been linked with Matthijs de Ligt with the hope that they can be able to secure his signature before the end of this January winter transfer window.
Matthijs de Ligt who made his confession while reaction to Barcelona’s signature of De Jong for a fee of £65 million, said the player deserves to play for the Spanish giants.
He, therefore, made it clear that he hopes to move anytime soon and the future will tell where he would end, noting that just like everyone, he will like to play at Barcelona.
This, therefore, means that Matthijs de Ligt is not looking forward to playing at the Old Trafford having known that he has got an offer from the English Premier League giants.
However, Matthijs de Ligt stated that he is focused on playing for Ajax at the moment as he frowns at rumours linking him away from the club.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are reported to have got some funds to secure some deals in this winter window.
