Arsenal manager expects £8 million rated midfielder to stay despite transfer link

Jack Wilshere

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has declared that he expects unsettled England international midfielder Jack Wilshere to remain at the club this summer despite rumours linking him away from the North London club.

The England international spent last campaign on loan at Premier League side Bournemouth and failed to impress regularly ahead of returning to the Emirate Stadium for the 2017/18 Campaign.

There appears little indication at the moment that the club he represented last season, AFC Bournemouth would try to sign the Englishman permanently, though he has attracted speculations of interest from Serie A club Sampdoria.

The Arsenal boss, however, is planning on having Wilshere, 25, as part of his first-eleven setup for the coming league seaso, though he has warned the midfielder that he’ll have to battle to win his place back in the squad.

Arsenal Chiefs are also unsure over the futures of Chilean Alexis Sanchez, German Mesut Ozil, French Olivier Giroud, English Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Polish Wojciech Szczesny in what could be a busy summer transfer window.

Jack Wilshere has played just 19 Premier league matches in the last three seasons for the Gunners, but has been unfortunate with injuries and remains highly rated by many at London club Arsenal.
