Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid are reportedly interested in a Chelsea player in their quest to sign a replacement for Marcelo at left-back when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
According to Fichajes.net, the Los Merengues are eyeing a summer move for Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso.
The Spaniard is said to be on a five-man shortlist compiled by European champions Real Madrid.
Marcos Alonso is on the list alongside Borussia Dortmund and Portuguese international player Raphael Guerreiro, Bayern Munich and Austrian national team star David Alaba.
Others are Juventus and Brazilian international player Alex Sandro as well as Manchester City defender and French World Cup winner Benjamin Mendy.
Brazilian left-back Marcelo has been a key player at Real Madrid since he signed for the European champions in 2007.
Spanish giants Real Madrid secured his transfer from Brazilian Serie A club Fluminense.
Since his transfer, Marcelo has scored 25 goals in 333 appearances for Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga.
Marcelo has won four Champions League titles including three successive titles from 2016 to 2018 under the guidance of France football legend Zinedine Zidane who resigned as the Real Madrid manager last summer.
Zidane was replaced by Julen Lopetegui who only lasted for three months.
