Manchester United and Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku is set to put an end to his international career after the Euro 2020 tournament.
According to the player while revealing his desire to hang his international boot, Belgium is a great footballing nation with lots of youngsters, who are fighting to take his place in the team.
The Manchester United striker was part of Belgium team who finished third during Russia 2018 world cup last month.
Lukaku further said that the country’s mission in any major tournament is to reach semifinals round, then, take things up from there.
Though the 25-year-old appears to be too young to retire from international football, he has been wonderful for the Belgian team since he had his debut in 2010
Should he proceed with his decision to retire in the next two years, Lukaku won’t be in Belgium’s squad to Qatar 2022 world cup if they qualify.
However, the 25-year-old is still available for selection for the 2020 Euro Championship and that would be his last outing for his country.
Lukaku is set to start against Brighton on Sunday as he is an integral part of José Mourinho’s team.
He will partner Alexis Sanchez at the final third of the pitch and he would be hoping to score more goals for the Red Devils this season.
