The goalscoring exploits of 21-year-old RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner, have caught the eye of some of Europe’s top clubs over the past one and a half years, and now the Gunners want the youngster too.
Wenger wants Werner
The Sun reports Arsene Wenger has joined the transfer race to land the £50m-rated German, who has turned down his current sides latest deal offer, presumably because he desires to play for a top football side.
Timo Werner appears an unusual transfer target given that the Gunners aren’t currently in need of another forward, as they have two big-money forwards in their squad, while Premier League rival interest from Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool could also scupper their opportunities.
Fekir also on Fekir wishlist
And it’s not only Timo Werner on Arsene Wenger’s wishlist. The Mail reports the Frenchman’s primary target for the summer is Lyon’s attacker Nabil Fekir.
Fekir, 24, who has been compared by many to France legend Youri Djorkaeff, is worth at about £45million by the French Ligue 1 side. Although having seen France international Alexandre Lacazette join the North London outfit last summer just to be replaced in the Arsenal after six months, the Lihue 1 giants might not fancy offloading yet another big-name player move to the Emirates Stadium.
