Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley believes that the good times are ahead for the club if the Blues could give manager Maurizio Sarri the time to turn things around.

Barkley drummed up support for Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri in his recent interview monitored by Goal as the Blues prepare to face Premier League champions Manchester City.

Ross Barkley is happy with the style of play under Maurizio Sarri.

The ex-Everton player further revealed that the Italian tactician has shown from his spell at Napoli that he is an excellent manager.

Maurizio Sarri is under severe pressure to keep his job at Chelsea after a run of three defeats from the last six games played in all competitions.

Chelsea and Sarri were knocked out of the FA Cup on Monday after their last 16 defeat to rivals Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

They were beaten 2-0 courtesy first half goals from Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba.

In the Premier League, Chelsea have dropped to the sixth position after Manchester City thrashed them 6-0 n their last game in the top flight.

They will face the same opposition in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday at the Wembley Stadium.

Chelsea will face Ukrainian club Dynamo Kiev in the last 16 of the Europa League next month.
