Long time Arsenal target Julian Draxler has been severally linked with the North London side in countless numbers of transfer windows as well as other European heavyweight sides like Juventus, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester United before he even sealed a big money move to his present club VFL Wolfsburg in the summer of 2015 from former side Schalke 04 however he has come under severe scrutiny this week after he was booed by his own fans over the weekend.

Sharing his thoughts on Draxler’s situation, Germany legend and World Cup winner, Lotthar Matthaus warned potential suitors like Arsenal and the other previously mentioned clubs against signing the 24-year old forward as a result of the baggages that come with him. In his words, he said:

“I would like to say that as a big club I would not want Draxler at the moment.”

“Partly because of his weakness in character and, on the other hand, since he is a talent but has not yet proved it permanently at a high level.

“I do not believe that the sale of Julian Draxler will bring Wolfsburg more than [what they paid for him] despite his long-term contract.

“His market value has suffered severely in recent years.” he concluded.

Julian Draxler, who is regarded as the biggest player at the club having been signed as a replacement for former club favourite Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City forward), has not scored in 12 appearances this season with his club languishing in a disappointing 15th position.
