Manchester United legend Gary Neville has blasted the board of his former side for leaking out the information of their planned sack of manager Jose Mourinho.
He recalled that the same scenario played out in David Moyes’ scenario some years back where the news of his sack broke out a day to journalist before it was finally done.
Neville said same was done to another former manager Lous van Gaal and that is a wrong way to operate a club.
The legend said with the reports already disclosed by journalists, he has no doubt that the Portuguese manager’s stay at the Old Trafford is over knowing as long as it has been reported by newsmen.
However, the former defender is optimistic that the former Chelsea boss will get one of the biggest supports of his career against Newcastle and hopes it goes in his favour.
According to Neville, any manager who eventually takes over at the Old Trafford, should Mourinho be sacked will struggle and might not make any difference at the club.
He expressed his love for his former side where he played for several years but noted that other things need to change aside from the manager and that should be the focus.
