Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville heaped praise on Arsenal players for their strong display in their win against local rivals Tottenham Hotspurs in the English Premier League on Saturday.
Arsenal headed into the match under severe pressure to get back to winning ways after their humiliating 3-1 loss to leaders Manchester City prior to last Weekend’s international break.
However, the Gunners impressed from the start in the first north London derby of the season and they went ahead in the 36th minute courtesy of a Shkodran Mustafi’s brilliant header from a Sanchez free-kick.
Unsettled Chilean Alexis Sanchez then doubled the lead for Arsenal just five minutes when he scored from close range after receiving a good pass from record transfer signing Alexandre Lacazette.
Arsene Wenger’s men have struggled to show consistency this campaign but former United right-back Neville was inspired by the performance of Arsene Wenger’s team on Saturday afternoon.
Talking during Sky Sports‘ Matchday coverage, Gary Neville said the Gunners looked really good, and every club would rather prefer not to play them in this form.
The Gunners are now just a point behind Spurs as they get set for their trip to Germany to take on Cologne in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
